Standard Inspections

Two Australian Standards exist that detail how an inspection is carried out and what basic equipment is required, we use the highest standard AS 4349.3 as our standard inspection and we go up from there!

How much is your home worth?

Do you have enough building insurance to rebuild or repair your home should something
catastrophic like fire, flood or earthquake destroy your home?
If you said yes, did you know that you can’t insure your home for damage done by termites? Imagine….. It’s a hot, humid afternoon. Along comes a storm, your roof is damaged and you have water damage inside your home. When your insurance assessor comes along you find out that your roof gave way because you had termite damage. Then, you’re told that your building insurance policies won’t cover the costs of repairs or replacement of items lost because you had termite damage. You’re devastated!

But there is a solution. You can protect yourself from this nightmare very easily. All you need to do is have your home regularly inspected for termites at least once per year. That way if termites do get in they will be detected early, before they have had time to do large scale damage to your home.Every home in south east Queensland should be inspected for termites, (and borers and wood rot), at least once every year.Call PestCare and you’ll get a thorough inspection done to the highest Australian Standard as a minimum by one of our experienced inspectors along with a comprehensive written report that will also give you advice on simple things you can do to reduce the risk of termite attack and damage to your home.

Pre Purchase Inspections

Buying a home or Investment Property? Then you’ll need a Pre Purchase Inspection for timber pests. Timber pests are termites’ wood borers and wood rot. A Pre Purchase Inspection will provide you with valuable information that will assist you in making an informed decision on the purchase of the property.
During the Pre Purchase Timber Pest Inspection your pest inspector will look for;

a) Live (active) termites and/or borers and damage done by termites and/or borers,
b) wood rot/decay.
c) Areas of high moisture that could indicate concealed termite activity or a water leak that will attract termites, be prone to wood rot and need repairing.
d) Signs that the property has, or hasn’t, got a current termite management system in place. If no signs of current termite management are found we’ll give you our recommendations on what needs to be done as well as how much it will cost.

We’ll tell you about conditions found that are likely to attract termites and provide you with information on how these conditions may be rectified or minimised to reduce the risk of termite attack.

Your prospective new home may look perfect but information on what you can’t see will confirm that this really is your dream home or it may save you thousands of dollars … not to mention immeasurable heartache.

Selling a property? What could be better than a report from a Pre Purchase Timber Pest Inspection that gives your property a clean bill of health?

An essential aid to clinching your sale; especially if you are going to auction!
